Almost 3M Pfizer vaccine doses arrive in PH

The Philippines received a total of almost 3 million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in three days, from October 27 to 29, 2021.

The latest delivery on October 29 brought an additional 973,440 doses, contributing to the country's vaccine inventory.

These government-procured Pfizer doses, facilitated with assistance from the US government, are partially allocated for the inoculation of adolescents aged 12 to 17.

The nationwide rollout for this age group is scheduled to begin on November 3.

Vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. stated that the country aims to inoculate 1.5 million Filipinos daily and expects to fully inoculate at least 50 million Filipinos by year-end.
