Ako Bicol solon claims rivalry behind P13.8B budget insertion accusation

Ako Bicol Rep. Alfredo Garbin claims Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco's accusations of P13.8 billion in budget insertions by Ako Bicol Rep. Elizaldy Co are driven by a personal vendetta.

Garbin suggested Tiangco's motives stem from his failed attempts to become Speaker of the House and chair the appropriations committee.

Garbin challenged Tiangco's transparency concerns by urging him to investigate alleged ghost projects and contractors within his own district.

Garbin further alleged that Tiangco himself made insertions totaling over P529 million, particularly for flood control projects awarded to St. Timothy Construction Corporation and Syms Construction Trading.

Tiangco countered that Syms' flood control project was completed and St. Timothy's works were ongoing, expressing willingness to be investigated by an independent commission.
