Akbayan Reform Bloc releases SALNs, urges colleagues to do the same

Members of the Akbayan Reform Bloc in the House of Representatives have released redacted copies of their Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALNs) to demonstrate their commitment to transparency and urged their colleagues to follow suit.

The bloc, consisting of Representatives Chel Diokno, Percival Cendaña, Dadah Kiram Ismula, and Kaka Bag-ao, views this action as a crucial step in restoring public trust in the government.

Among the released SALNs, Representative Bag-ao has the highest net worth at P15.05 million, followed by Representative Diokno with P13.13 million, Representative Ismula with P3.246 million, and Representative Cendaña with P1 million.

The Akbayan lawmakers emphasized that words are insufficient to rebuild trust, especially during a period of low public confidence in government, and that concrete actions demonstrating transparency and accountability are essential.

They stated that public service is about earning and maintaining the trust of the people, not about power or privilege, and that regularly publishing SALNs is a commitment to openness and honesty.
