Akari setter emotional after team's best franchise start

Akari's setter Michelle Cobb became emotional after the Chargers achieved their best franchise start with a 7-0 record in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference.

She played a crucial role in Akari's seventh consecutive win, contributing 18 excellent sets and scoring nine points, including four aces, in their match against Nxled.

Cobb believes the Chargers are a strong contender capable of winning the championship, especially with the team united and moving in the same direction.

Akari is now just one win away from securing the top spot heading into the knockout quarterfinals, with their only remaining opponent being Farm Fresh.

The team's rise is attributed to offseason acquisitions including coach Taka Minowa, scorer Ivy Lacsina, Ced Domingo, and Grethcel Soltones, despite the absence of Alas Pilipinas players Faith Nisperos and Fifi Sharma.
