More Chinese ships spotted in WPS for 1-week period
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reported a record-high of 251 Chinese vessels in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) from September 17 to 23, 2024, marking the highest concentration observed this year.

Philippine Navy Spokesperson for the WPS Rear Adm. Roy Vincent Trinidad attributed the spike to better weather conditions following recent tropical cyclones.
A notable cluster of 55 CMMVs, 16 CCGVs, and 11 PLAN vessels were spotted at Sabina Shoal.
