AFP launches mobile kitchens for the homeless

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has launched mobile kitchens to provide hot meals to homeless individuals and families affected by the enhanced community quarantine.

This initiative is part of the AFP's "Kapwa Ko, Sagot Ko" campaign, aiming to feed approximately 3,000 disadvantaged individuals daily.

Soldiers trained in culinary arts are preparing the meals which are served from two military kitchen trucks named "Vessels of Blessings."

The pilot project was conducted in Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City, targeting street dwellers, informal settlers, stranded workers, and students.

The AFP is collaborating with stakeholders and donors to foster a spirit of solidarity during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The campaign seeks to support vulnerable communities who are struggling due to the extended lockdown and lack of income.
