AFP completes 7th incident-free resupply mission to Ayungin Shoal

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) successfully completed another routine troop rotation and resupply mission to the BRP Sierra Madre at Ayungin Shoal on April 9, coinciding with the Araw ng Kagitingan.

The mission was carried out in close coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard and concluded without any untoward incidents or interference from Chinese vessels.

This marks the seventh consecutive incident-free resupply mission since July 2024.

AFP Public Affairs Office chief Col. Xerxes Trinidad commended the troops for their courage and dedication in guarding the West Philippine Sea to uphold national sovereignty and interests.

The Philippine government has entered into a provisional understanding with China that now allows unimpeded resupply missions to the BRP Sierra Madre.
