AFP completes 5th resupply mission to Ayungin Shoal unimpeded

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) successfully completed its fifth consecutive unimpeded rotation and resupply mission to the BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal on March 4, 2025.

The mission, which involved delivering food supplies and rotating troops, was executed in coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard.

AFP Public Affairs Chief Col. Xerxes Trinidad confirmed the operation was completed without harassment from Chinese maritime forces, despite several Chinese vessels being monitored in the area.

A chartered civilian vessel, M/V Lapu-Lapu, was able to dock alongside the BRP Sierra Madre during the resupply effort.

This operation underscores the AFP's commitment to supporting its personnel and upholding Philippine sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea.
