180 lawmakers back Speaker Dy, push for anti-corruption bill

Ninety-seven lawmakers from Metro Manila and Mindanao have signed manifestos expressing their support for Speaker Faustino "Bojie" Dy III, bringing the total number of House members who signed a manifesto of support for Dy to at least 180.

Of the 97, 67 legislators were from Mindanao and 30 were from Metro Manila.

Lawmakers lauded Dy for his leadership during a tumultuous period, citing his ability to bring calmness to the House of Representatives.

They specifically commended his principled approach, which they believe has been a unifying force within the chamber.

The legislators also voiced their strong support for the proposed Independent Commission Against Infrastructure Corruption (ICI) Bill.

They view Dy's championship of this bill as a crucial step towards transparency and accountability, especially in light of previous flood control corruption issues.
