91% of Filipinos always wear masks outdoors, survey shows

A survey by YouGov and the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London revealed that 91% of Filipinos consistently wear masks when outdoors, making the Philippines the second highest among 29 surveyed countries.

Singapore led the survey with over 94% of its population always wearing masks outside.

Only a small fraction of Filipinos, specifically 1%, reported never wearing masks outdoors, with 2% wearing them sometimes and 5% frequently.

In contrast, countries like Denmark, Sweden, and Finland had only 2% of their populations always wearing masks outside.

Despite high mask usage and handwashing rates (83%), the study also indicated that only 50% of Filipinos could consistently avoid going out for work.

Furthermore, merely 58% of the population had the option to consistently avoid using public transportation.
