80 Filipino M/V Diamond Princess crew recover from COVID-19

All 80 Filipino crew members of the M/V Diamond Princess cruise ship who previously tested positive for COVID-19 in Japan have now recovered and returned to the Philippines.

The Philippine embassy in Tokyo confirmed that the last Filipino crew member was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday, March 31.

The M/V Diamond Princess was quarantined in Yokohama on February 5 due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

Prior to the crew's recovery, 445 Filipino crew members who tested negative for the virus were repatriated on February 26.

Ambassador Jose Laurel V also noted that there are two other land-based Filipino COVID-19 cases in Japan, one in Osaka and another in Nagoya.
