75% ng Pinoy voters suportado ang kandidatong ipaglalaban ang WPS

A Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey commissioned by Stratbase Consultancy reveals that 75% of Filipino voters will support senatorial candidates who assert the Philippines' rights in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) against China's actions.

This figure represents a slight decrease from a previous poll where 78% favored such candidates.

The survey involved 1,800 registered voters nationwide, conducted from April 11 to 15, 2025.

Support for assertive candidates was high across most economic classes, though notably lower among those in Class E at 59%.

Stratbase president Dindo Manhit suggested this lower support might be due to susceptibility to China's disinformation campaigns, particularly among those struggling daily.

Lawmakers see the survey results as a clear mandate from the Filipino people for leaders who will defend the country's sovereignty and reject China's "bullying."

Deputy Speaker David Suarez stated that the results reflect the people's desire for a "strong, independent future."

House Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio Gonzales Jr. believes the survey findings will benefit the administration-backed Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas coalition's senatorial slate.
