14th Covid-19 relief flight from Myanmar arrives in Manila
Fifty-five overseas Filipinos were repatriated from Myanmar and arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Wednesday afternoon due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) arranged the flight for the repatriated Filipinos.
DFA Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. stated that the DFA is prepared to assist overseas Filipinos wishing to return home due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Sarah Arriola encouraged distressed Filipinos abroad to utilize the assistance-to-nationals and legal assistance funds.
As of February 20, the DFA has repatriated a total of 368,736 overseas Filipinos since the start of its COVID-19-related repatriation efforts a year ago.
