5 COVID-19 patients transferred to Bataan hospital

Five patients with mild to moderate cases of COVID-19 were transferred from the New Clark City quarantine facility in Tarlac to the Mariveles Mental Wellness General Hospital (MMWGH) in Bataan.

The transfer was confirmed by MMWGH Chief Maria Lourdes Evangelista, who stated that regional hospitals could no longer accommodate patients due to the rising number of suspected COVID-19 cases.

MMWGH, a national hospital under the Department of Health (DOH), is mandated to receive patients and has a dedicated, strictly isolated facility for COVID-19 cases.

Evangelista assured that the hospital's medical personnel are well-trained to handle COVID-19 cases and are implementing strict isolation protocols.

Following the transfer, the barangay chairman of Poblacion, Mariveles ordered a lockdown of the village and initiated disinfection and other preventive measures.

Hospital officials assured the community that the patients are in strict isolation and pose no danger.
