In addition to the churches, 39,806 houses were damaged by the earthquake.

The quake also caused damage to houses in the nearby province of Bohol.

Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco stated that the churches are undergoing inspection and assessment and would be endorsed to the National Commission for Culture and the Arts for restoration and rehabilitation.

The earthquake resulted in 72 deaths and 559 injuries.

Food and non-food assistance worth over P138.6 million has been provided to affected communities in Central Visayas.
