32 individuals, 10 cops caught using fake RT-PCR tests in Zamboanga

Thirty-two individuals, including 10 police officers, were apprehended in Zamboanga City for attempting to enter using falsified reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test results.

The apprehended individuals comprised 22 civilians and 10 police personnel, arriving by boat from Basilan and Sulu.

Four of the police officers were from Basilan, while the other six were from Sulu.

Eleven civilians came from Basilan and the remaining eleven arrived from Sulu.

Zamboanga City enforces a strict 'no swab test, no entry policy' as a mandatory requirement for all travelers.

The fake RT-PCR test results were detected by personnel from the City Tourism Office and City Health Office during the profiling of arrivals.

The provincial governments of Basilan and Sulu have been notified of the incident for further investigation.

Around 50 violators have been caught in recent months and penalized with citation tickets, monetary fines, blacklisting, and were asked to return to their point of origin.
