32 foreign nationals nabbed for illegal POGO work

Thirty-two foreign nationals were apprehended in Parañaque City for allegedly working for illegal Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGO).

The arrested individuals comprise 20 Chinese, 11 Malaysians, and 1 Cambodian.

BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado stated that this operation serves as a warning to foreign nationals continuing illegal operations despite the presidential ban.

The Bureau of Immigration expects more arrests and deportations as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. banned POGO operations in July 2024.

The arrested foreigners will remain under NBI custody while undergoing deportation proceedings.
