3 weather systems to bring rains to Northern Luzon, Palawan

Three weather systems, namely the shear line, northeast monsoon, and easterlies, are expected to bring cloudy skies and scattered rains to Northern Luzon on Saturday.

The trough of Severe Tropical Storm Koto (formerly Verbena) will bring similar weather conditions to Palawan.

STS Koto is located 345 kilometers northwest of Pag-Asa Island, Kalayaan, Palawan, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, with maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h and gustiness of up to 11 km/h, moving northward at 15 km/h.

Apayao, Kalinga, Cagayan, and Isabela will experience scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line, with risks of flash floods or landslides from moderate to heavy rains.

Palawan can expect scattered rains and thunderstorms from STS Koto's trough, also with risks of flash floods or landslides from moderate to at times heavy rains.

The Ilocos Region, Batanes, and the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region will have cloudy skies with rains from the northeast monsoon, facing similar risks of flash floods or landslides from moderate to at times heavy rains.
