Pagasa forecasts rains nationwide until Feb 28

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecasts cloudy skies and rains across the country until February 28 due to the combined effects of the northeast monsoon and shear line.

The shear line will cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms in Bicol, Mimaropa, Quezon, Caraga, Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Region, and Northern Mindanao until February 22.

It will continue to bring scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms to Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Caraga from February 23 to 24.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies and rains to Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.

In Mindanao, easterlies will bring cloudy conditions with scattered rain and thunderstorms over Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

Pagasa warned that flash floods or landslides could occur in areas affected by heavy rainfall.

Strong winds and rough coastal conditions are expected in the northern and eastern sections of Luzon, with moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas prevailing over the rest of Luzon and the eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao.
