2.8M Sputnik V doses arrive in PH

Over 2.8 million doses of the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine, procured by the Philippine government, arrived in the country on Monday evening.

President Rodrigo Duterte personally welcomed the shipment at Villamor Air Base and expressed gratitude to the Russian government.

Duterte emphasized the need for public cooperation in overcoming the pandemic through vaccination and adherence to health standards.

This latest delivery brings the total Sputnik V doses received by the Philippines to 7.19 million out of a 10 million dose order.

Vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. stated that this was one of the largest Sputnik V shipments and that vaccine supply is no longer the primary challenge, but rather administering the vaccines to the population.
