21 PDLs released from NBP minimum-security compound

Twenty-one more persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) were released from the minimum-security compound of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City on January 8, 2022.

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) stated that these PDLs completed their jail terms or were granted parole.

This follows the release of 15 PDLs from NBP's medium-security compound on January 7, 2022, who had served their jail terms.

The 21 PDLs released on January 8 were fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and underwent Rapid Antigen Tests before going home.

They also received transportation allowances for their travel expenses.

BuCor continues to implement its Decongestion Program amidst the pandemic.

In 2021, a total of 4,610 PDLs were released from BuCor's seven prison facilities nationwide.
