21 Filipino seafarers from MV S-Breeze arrive in PH

Twenty-one Filipino seafarers from the MV S-Breeze, who were stranded in Ukraine since January 27, have arrived in the Philippines.

They were undergoing repairs at the Ilyichevsk Ship Yard in the Port of Odessa when Russia invaded Ukraine.

The seafarers requested repatriation due to the ongoing conflict and were extracted from Odessa to Moldova.

The extraction was facilitated by Philippine Honorary Consul Victor Gaina in Moldova, in coordination with the Philippine Embassy in Budapest.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed their arrival and stated that this brings the total number of Filipinos repatriated from Ukraine to at least 63.

Currently, 136 Filipinos have been evacuated from Ukraine, which is under Alert Level 4 due to the deteriorating security situation.
