2025 budget allocates P253.3B for gov't aid programs

The proposed 2025 national budget has earmarked P253.3 billion for various government assistance programs, according to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

The bulk of this allocation, P114.1 billion, is designated for the Department of Social Welfare and Development's (DSWD) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

This represents a 7.4% increase from the 2024 budget for the 4Ps program.

The 4Ps program is expected to benefit approximately 4.4 million individuals, including pregnant and lactating women, by providing support during the crucial first 1,000 days of life.

Additionally, the DSWD will receive P49.8 billion for its Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens program, providing a monthly P1,000 allowance.

A further P35.1 billion is allocated to the DSWD for its Protective Services for Individuals and Families in Difficult Circumstances program.

The Sustainable Livelihood Program, also managed by the DSWD, will receive P4.4 billion to support individuals who have transitioned out of the 4Ps program.
