200 distressed OFWs from Kuwait arrive in PH

More than 200 distressed Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from Kuwait have safely arrived in the Philippines.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III expressed gratitude to the Kuwaiti government for facilitating the repatriation of the OFWs at no cost to the Philippine government.

The Department of Labor and Employment, through the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), provided various forms of assistance to the repatriates.

This assistance included temporary accommodation at the OWWA Halfway Home and financial support for their travel back to their respective provinces.

The repatriated OFWs were also offered reintegration assistance, such as livelihood projects, skills training, scholarships for their dependents, and counseling services.
