Yulo and Eala named top June achievers by PSA

Paris Olympics gold medalists Carlos Yulo and Alexandra Eala were named top achievers for June by the Philippine Sportswriters Association.

Yulo won his fourth straight title at the Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships in South Korea, excelling with a winning score of 14.600 points in floor exercise and securing bronze medals in individual all-around, vault, and parallel bars.

Eala became the first Filipino to reach a WTA championship round at the Eastbourne Open in Great Britain, achieving her career-best ranking of No. 56 after reaching the semifinals but settling for runner-up honors.

Four-division boxing champion Nonito Donaire Jr. made a successful comeback with a unanimous technical decision over Chile's Andres Campos in Argentina.

Other notable achievements included Alekhine Nouri winning rapid gold and blitz silver at the Asian Juniors Chess Championships, and various teams excelling in canoe kayak dragonboat, women's ice hockey, volleyball, and 3x3 basketball.
