Xiandi Chua sets SEA Games record, wins PH first gold

Xiandi Chua broke the SEA Games record and won the gold medal in the women's 200m backstroke on Monday, May 8, at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Phnom Penh.

Chua's time of 2:13.20 surpassed Vietnam's Nguyen Thi Anh Vien's previous record of 2:13.64 from 2017.

Her teammate Chloe Isleta secured the silver medal with a time of 2:16.19, giving the Philippines a 1-2 finish in the event.
