WHO: PH must prioritize vaccine rollout or risk losing COVAX doses

The World Health Organization (WHO) warned on Thursday that the Philippines must adhere to the prioritization list for vaccine distribution, which includes medical front-liners, seniors, and those with comorbidities, to ensure continued access to vaccines from the COVAX Facility.

Around 4.58 million AstraZeneca doses are expected to arrive in the Philippines this year through COVAX, along with an additional batch of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines.

WHO country representative Dr. Rabindra Abeyasinghe emphasized that if the Philippines fails to follow these prioritizations, it risks jeopardizing its vaccine supply from COVAX.
