VP Sara skips Marcos' SONA, stays in Bohol

Vice President Sara Duterte will not watch President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s third State of the Nation Address (SONA) either in person or remotely.

Duterte earlier declined to attend the SONA and appointed herself as 'the designated survivor', a term that refers to an official intentionally kept away from gatherings for safety reasons.

Currently in Bohol to empathize with locals following the death of their Vice Governor, Dionisio Victor Balite, Duterte is emphasizing unity and hope for the province on its charter day.

The relationship between Marcos and Duterte has shown signs of strain over issues like constitutional change and foreign policy, leading to Duterte's resignation from the Cabinet last June.

While in Bohol, Duterte aims to uplift the spirits of residents and convey a message of solidarity and cooperation towards rebuilding their community.
