Sara Duterte declines P1-m reward comments

Vice President Sara Duterte declined on Wednesday to comment on a P1-million reward for information about 'Mary Grace Piattos,' citing that she has not seen the acknowledgment receipts for confidential funds.

Duterte stated during a press conference in Butuan City that all documents related to her offices' confidential expenses are submitted directly to the Commission on Audit (COA) by the special disbursing officer, bypassing her involvement.

The House good government and public accountability panel offered a reward for information about 'Mary Grace Piattos,' whose signature appeared frequently in acknowledgment receipts for confidential funds of Duterte's Office of the Vice President and Department of Education during her tenure as secretary.

COA previously testified before the House committee that OVP and DepEd submitted documents with incorrect dates, signatures without names, and unreadable names to justify the disbursement of confidential funds in 2022 and 2023.

The COA confirmed there were 787 acknowledgment receipts with unnamed signatories and 302 ARs with unreadable names submitted by OVP and DepEd for their confidential fund use in 2023.
