VP Sara: Avanceña can sell Duterte's Davao house, family making living arrangements

Vice President Sara Duterte stated that former president Rodrigo Duterte's common-law partner Honeylet Avanceña can legally sell her share of their Davao City house.

However, VP Sara expressed concern about where the former president would live if the property is sold and mentioned that arrangements could be made for him to stay with his ex-wife Elizabeth Zimmerman, who has agreed to accommodate him.

During an interview in The Hague, she clarified that as co-owners, Avanceña can only sell her portion of the property and emphasized that Duterte's children have expressed concerns over future living arrangements if their father returns to the Philippines.

VP Sara noted that while her parents may maintain a friendship, there are no plans for reconciliation and her brother Paolo has stated that their father has no intention of selling his house in Davao City.

The former president is currently detained in Scheveningen Prison in The Hague following an arrest on March 11 based on an International Criminal Court warrant.

He faces charges of crimes against humanity related to extrajudicial killings during his administration's war on drugs.
