Duterte VP's office thanks Marcos and others for Lopez support

Vice President Sara Duterte's office thanked Senator Imee Marcos and other supporters for their assistance during a recent crisis involving her chief of staff Zuleika Lopez.

Senator Marcos facilitated a Department of the Interior and Local Government order that allowed Vice President Duterte to stay with Lopez at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) after she was hospitalized on November 23 due to health issues following a House panel's plan to detain her for questioning about the OVP's confidential fund use.

Lopez, who suffered a panic attack during detention and later refused transfer to the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City, was discharged from VMMC on November 30.

Vice President Duterte held an expletive-laden press conference expressing threats against those involved in alleged plots to assassinate her, including President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The Office of the Vice President also thanked Senators Ronald 'Bato' dela Rosa and Christopher 'Bong' Go for visiting Lopez at the hospital and medical professionals who provided care.
