CIDG chief files complaint against vlogger for spreading false info

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) chief Police Major General Nicolas Torre III has filed a formal complaint against vlogger Jun Abines for allegedly spreading false information suggesting he was hospitalized.

Torre dismissed the claim that he was rushed to the hospital, saying it led to unnecessary concern among his family, friends, and acquaintances.

On Saturday, February 22, CIDG operatives along with the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) served a search warrant at Abines' residence in Cebu City, confiscating his electronic devices for further evidence gathering.

Torre challenged Abines to provide evidence for his claims and criticized content creators who spread false information without accountability.

Abines has not yet responded to requests for comment from GMA Integrated News.
