Rep Quimbo confronts VP Sara over confidential funds, Constitution disrespect

During budget deliberations for the Office of the Vice President (OVP) on August 27, Marikina 2nd District Representative Stella Quimbo confronted Vice President Sara Duterte over her refusal to answer questions about confidential funds and COA findings.

Manila Rep. Joel R. Chua accused VP Duterte-Carpio of disrespecting the Constitution during the budget briefing, suggesting she believes herself above the law and Congress.

Despite defending the legality of releasing Duterte's budget last year, Quimbo now faces conflict with Duterte who criticized her for allowing attacks on her office and attempted to replace her as presiding officer.

The House appropriations committee deferred decisions due to lack of information.
