Vic Sotto jokes Vico could be next president during rally

Television host Vic Sotto jokingly introduced his son, Mayor Vico Sotto of Pasig City, as the next president of the Philippines during a rally on Friday, March 28.

Vico Sotto downplayed his father's statement, emphasizing it was just a momentary exaggeration and focused on launching his reelection bid for a third term.

During the kickoff rally at Pasig City Mega Market, Vic Sotto encouraged supporters to continue efforts against corruption and for good governance, highlighting initiatives such as eliminating city hall-issued benefit cards and implementing no-balance billing in hospitals for residents.

The event featured Vico Sotto's wife and other Giting ng Pasig members, including Vice Mayor Dodot Jaworski and Rep. Roman Romulo, with the campaign period running from March 28 to May 10.

Vico Sotto emphasized his administration's achievements, such as saving a billion pesos annually by eliminating corruption in procurement processes and increasing scholarships for students from 12,000 to over 25,000 since he took office in 2019.
