UST names Shaq Delos Santos as new Golden Tigresses coach

University of Santo Tomas announced Tuesday night that Cesael 'Shaq' Delos Santos will be the new head coach of the Golden Tigresses volleyball team in the UAAP.

Delos Santos, who previously coached the team to a championship title in 2010 and has recently been an assistant coach, is replacing Emilio 'Kung Fu' Reyes.

Reyes, who served as the team's coach since 2015, will continue to support the program as Program Director for both women's and girls' volleyball teams while also coaching the girls' squad.

UST expressed gratitude towards Reyes for his long-standing service during which he led them to six Final Four appearances in ten seasons with a record of 68-44.

The Golden Tigresses finished third in Season 87 of the UAAP and are set to compete again in Season 88 under Delos Santos's leadership, while he will concurrently handle the Cignal HD Spikers of PVL without any conflicts.
