UST edges UP to reach UAAP women's finals

University of Santo Tomas (UST) secured their spot in the UAAP Season 86 women's basketball finals by defeating University of the Philippines (UP), 87-83, on Saturday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Kent Pastrana led UST with 18 points and five rebounds, helping them build a 74-66 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Despite UP's strong comeback in the final minutes, UST held on to win.

UST coach Haydee Ong praised her team's effort throughout the season and acknowledged UP for making them better as a unit.

With this victory, UST will face defending champion National University in a best-of-three series starting Nov. 29 at Mall of Asia Arena.
