UST beats UP, DLSU leads UAAP chess

UST defeated UP 4-0 in the UAAP Season 86 men's chess championships on Tuesday, Oct 17.

On Monday, Oct 16, DLSU secured first place with a 4-0 shutout over Adamson University.

Fide Master Christian Mark Daluz of UST won decisively against Fide Master Stephen Pangilinan using two rooks to force resignation.

DLSU's Cyril Telesforo led the team to victory on Board 1 by taking advantage of a mistake in the endgame made by Arena Fide Master Alfonzo Louis Olendo.
