UST aims for revenge against UP in UAAP men's basketball

University of Santo Tomas (UST) aims to seek revenge against University of the Philippines (UP) in the upcoming UAAP Season 88 men's basketball tournament, which begins on September 21 at UST's Quadricentennial Pavilion.

In the previous season, UP defeated UST in the Final Four and went on to win the championship series against De La Salle University.

Fr. Rodel Cansancio, president of the UAAP Board of Managing Directors and head of UST athletics, emphasized that hosting the tournament does not add pressure but rather motivates the Growling Tigers to showcase their skills.

UST has bolstered its team with new players from their grassroots program, including Koji Beunaflor, Charles Bucsit, Carl Manding, and former rival Collins Akowe from National University-Nazareth School.

Returning seasoned players like Nic Cabañero, Forthsky Padrigao, Kyle Paranda, as well as rising stars such as Ice Danting, Amiel Acido, and Gelo Crisostomo, will also contribute to UST's efforts in the upcoming season.
