UP tops FEU 81-64, eyes semis bonus

The University of the Philippines men's basketball team secured a strong victory over Far Eastern University with an 81-64 score on Saturday, November 11.

Aldous Torculas led UP with 13 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals without turning the ball over.

UP started strongly with a 12-2 lead in the first quarter but FEU responded with an 11-4 run; however, UP outscored FEU in every quarter, particularly with a 26-point third quarter that gave them a 13-point cushion heading into the final period.

UP and National University are tied at the top of the standings with identical 9-2 records and aim to secure wins against Far Eastern University and University of Santo Tomas respectively on Saturday to create separation in the race for semifinals bonuses.

Assistant coach Christian Luanzon emphasized that UP cannot be complacent against FEU, stressing the importance of taking control of their destiny with each game.
