FDA approves UP-NIH COVID-19 test kits for commercial use

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the University of the Philippines-National Institutes of Health (UP-NIH) developed COVID-19 test kits for commercial use.

As of Friday, April 3, UP-NIH has stockpiled 26,000 test kits with the capacity to produce up to 8,000 daily once at full production.

The locally-made test kits can provide results in two hours and are expected to ensure a sustainable supply of testing materials.
