Typhoon Julian re-enters PAR, candidates file COCs

Typhoon Julian has re-entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Thursday, according to Pagasa.

The filing of certificates of candidacy for the 2025 midterm elections is underway with several candidates including Sen. Ronald 'Bato' dela Rosa and Sen. Bong Go submitting their COCs at Manila Hotel's Tent City.

Pulse Asia’s latest Ulat ng Bayan survey shows that President Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte's approval and trust ratings have declined since June, with Marcos's score dropping from 53 percent to 50 percent and his trust rating falling from 52 percent to 50 percent over the same period.

Vice President Sara Duterte also saw a decline in her approval and trust ratings according to the survey conducted between Sept. 6 and 13.

Actor Phillip Salvador has filed his certificate of candidacy for senator, following an endorsement by the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino.
