Gov provides PHP388M aid to over 1M typhoon victims

The government and other stakeholders have provided over PHP388 million in assistance to families affected by typhoons Nika, Ofel, and Pepito.

As of Tuesday, this aid has reached more than one million individuals or 275,049 families across eight regions, including food and non-food items.

However, the total number of families still needing help stands at 1.15 million, with a reported death toll of 14, though only five deaths have been confirmed.

The typhoons affected over one million individuals in 7,710 barangays across eight regions, with 29,423 families currently housed in 941 evacuation centers.

Damage to houses, agriculture, and infrastructure is estimated at PHP699.3 million and PHP2.84 billion respectively, with a total of 123,747 damaged homes.
