Typhoon Bising and habagat affect over 95K in Luzon

Over 95,906 individuals across Luzon have been affected by Typhoon Bising and the southwest monsoon or 'habagat', according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

The Ilocos Region recorded the highest number of affected families with 30,682 in total across various areas, followed by Central Luzon and the Cordillera Administrative Region.

Flooding was reported in multiple regions, including Metro Manila and the Ilocos Region, where several local government units suspended classes on July 7 due to heavy rainfall caused by habagat.

Only nine individuals remain inside two evacuation centers (ECs), while 3,026 others have been assisted outside ECs.

The NDRRMC has distributed P687,569 worth of assistance to support affected families.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon continues to bring rain to most parts of the country with cloudy skies and scattered rain showers expected over Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, the Cordillera Region, Occidental Mindoro, Batanes, and the Babuyan Islands.
