POC chief meets UCI president, discusses cycling support and IOC elections

Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President Abraham 'Bambol' Tolentino met with International Cycling Union (UCI) President David Lappartient in Harbin, discussing cycling developments and IOC presidential elections.

During the meeting, Lappartient expressed support for the Philippines' track program and showed interest in a new indoor velodrome being built in Tagaytay City that will be operational by mid-year.

Tolentino highlighted Lappartient's early involvement with cycling in the Philippines, including his role as a commissaire at Asian championships held in 1995.

The election for the IOC presidency is scheduled to take place on March 21 in Olympia, Greece, where seven candidates are vying for the position.

Tolentino expressed confidence in Lappartient's ability to lead the Olympic movement and emphasized his hope that he will win the upcoming election.
