Vic Sotto sues Yap over 'Rape of Pepsi Paloma' teaser

Director Francis Xavier Yap has released a teaser for his controversial film 'The Rape of Pepsi Paloma,' which has sparked outrage.

Actor and comedian Vic Sotto filed 19 counts of cyberlibel and a petition for writ of habeas data against Yap on Thursday before the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court, seeking P35 million in damages.

Tito Sotto criticized those using 'old showbiz gimmick to make money' amid his brother Vic's legal battle with filmmaker Darryl Yap over the film teaser.

Yap's film includes a timeline of rape allegations and accusations involving Sotto and others, as well as the circumstances surrounding Paloma's death at age 18.

Atty. Raymond Fortun, Yap's legal counsel, stated that his client sent Sotto a copy of the script before releasing the teaser to allow for feedback, which Sotto claims was never received.
