Rep Teves Sr.'s death, Jr. faces extradition

Arnolfo Teves Sr., father of expelled Negros Oriental 3rd District Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr., passed away at age 77 on Tuesday, December 24.

Henry Teves, the son of the elder Teves, announced his father's death on Facebook, expressing love and sorrow for his loss.

Rep. Teves' lawyer, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, confirmed the congressman's inability to attend his father's wake due to being overseas in East Timor.

Topacio expressed deep sorrow for Rep. Teves and his family, noting that the congressman is facing potential charges related to a murder case involving Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.

The Timor-Leste Court of Appeal has granted the Philippine government's request to extradite Teves back to the country, which he will likely appeal.
