Teodoro highlights funding challenge for DND, AFP

Newly appointed Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro Jr. highlighted funding as a key challenge for the Department of National Defense (DND) and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), emphasizing the need for a dedicated capital outlay.

Teodoro stressed the importance of building up managerial capabilities within DND to manage its stakeholders more effectively, noting current limitations in infrastructure and manpower.

He also expressed his goal to lobby Congress for additional funds to support modernization efforts and improve the operational capacity of the DND.
