TAPE execs file counter-affidavit in GMA estafa case

TAPE Inc. executives filed a joint counter-affidavit on Tuesday before the Quezon City Office of the Prosecutor in response to an estafa case filed against them by GMA Network.

The respondents include TAPE chairman Romeo Jalosjos Sr., former president and CEO Romeo Jalosjos Jr., treasurer Seth Frederick 'Bullet' Jalosjos, former SVP for finance Michaela Magtoto, finance consultant Zenaida Buenavista, and current president and CEO Malou Choa Fagar.

GMA filed a criminal complaint alleging the misappropriation of nearly ₱38 million in funds, but TAPE's lawyer argues that the case should be against TAPE Inc. as a corporation rather than individual officers.

The agreement was signed between GMA Network and TAPE Inc., not by the individual respondents, according to the lawyer who added that letters from GMA mentioned plans to file a breach of contract case against the company.

Seth Frederick 'Bullet' Jalosjos, Michaela Magtoto, Zenaida Buenavista, and Malou Choa Fagar appeared before the prosecutor on Tuesday to swear their counter-affidavit, with Romeo Jalosjos Jr. and Sr. expected to file theirs on July 15.
