Tamayo, Marei lead Sakers past Hyundai Mobis

Carl Tamayo and the Changwon LG Sakers defeated the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus, 84-75, to take a commanding 2-0 lead in their Korean Basketball League (KBL) semifinal series on Saturday, April 26.

Despite an early deficit, Tamayo and Assem Marei led Changwon's second-half surge with standout performances, securing the Sakers' victory and setting up Game 3 on Monday, April 28.

Tamayo contributed 22 points along with five rebounds, one assist, and two steals, while Marei recorded a double-double of 24 points and 18 rebounds, adding seven assists, four steals, and one block.

This marks Changwon's first semifinal appearance since the 2013-14 season where they lost to Ulsan in the finals.

Yu Ki-Sang and Yang Jun-Seok also supported Changwon with double-digit scoring efforts of 12 and 10 points, respectively.
