Taiwan's Taipower sweeps Hong Kong's Hip Hing in AVC Women's Club Volleyball

Kaohsiung Taipower of Taiwan dominated Hong Kong's Hip Hing in a 25-10, 25-16, 25-14 sweep on Sunday morning, April 20, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig during the AVC Women's Club Volleyball Championship.

The Taiwanese team, nine-time champions of Taiwan’s Top Volleyball League, showcased their experience and firepower to secure a 1-0 record in Pool B.

Peng Yu-Rou led Taipower with 16 points, while Tsai Yu-Chun added 11 markers. Hsu Wan-Yun contributed seven points, team captain Huang Ching Hsuan had six points, and middle blockers Hu Xiao-Pei and Pao Yin-Chi scored five points each.

Taipower maintained control throughout the match, particularly in the third set where they built a 14-6 lead and extended their advantage to 21-10 before securing victory.

Starting setter Hung Chia-Yao emphasized the importance of gaining experience from participating in such tournaments, while middle blocker Hu Xiao-Pei noted the value of learning from other countries' playing styles.

Taipower will next face Petro Gazz, the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference champion, at 4 p.m. on Monday.
